Question by : Why do people keep saying acid reflux causes “heart”burn? I feel the burn just two inches above my navel.?
I keep hearing people say that “acid reflux causes a burning sensation in the esophagus” but I feel the “burn” two inches above my belly button, about an inch and a half above my belly button. So how come whenever I go to a website about acid reflux (which I have been diagnosed with after an endoscopy), I see pictures of people frowning in pain while putting their hand over their heart, or near the middle of their rib cage?

I was diagnosed with acid reflux, so shouldn’t I feel be burn in my esophagus and not in the pit of my belly where I believe my stomach is?
