mix soda water with baking soda , hold your nose and drink quickly because it taste nasty as can be but helps a lot..this is what my gyno told me to do because my heartburn was horrible
I took the Pepcid or Zantac—But my mom in law has an old remedy she uses when she has this problem—Baking Soda & Water—it willl nutralize the acid . Add a fe Tsp. to a small glass of water.
Also, try to use an extra pillow to elevate your head at night & do not eat late —before you go to bed.Try to not eat after 7 or so.
Good Luck!
yes, over the counter prilosec should do the trick, only one tablet every 24 hours, prilosec is a proton pump inhibitor and works differently from the others you mentioned, it may take a couple days but it will work,(this is assuming it an acid condition)
it is also imperitive that you let your OB know of this condition
prilosec is safe during pregnancy
I used to keep soda crackers by the bed.
East small meals and nothing within 2 hours of laying down – this helps with all reflux.
Cut caffeine, colas, processed meats, like bacon, cut the tomato type sauces too.
Best thing is to ask your physician so that you can maintain the proper nutrition while you are pregnant.
Good luck!
Some people drink ginger ale to clam the heart burn… I am not sure I have never had it… but you know what that say about expecting moms that have horrible heart burn?? your baby is going to have a head full of hair!!!
please, try this- I swear by it. Simply eat some raw celery. It works really well, and everyone I have shared this with agrees. Celery is very alkaline and will stop your heartburn/reflux quickly, gently, naturally, cheaply, and with NO side effects. Seriously, it works very well.

INSTRUCTIONS: My doctor told me to try celery, she swears by it forheartburn relief. I thought is sounded silly, but she said it is highly alkaline, which counteracts the acid. It works great! And almost immediately. Now I have a constant supply of celery in my fridge.

Quick Action Plan for Preventing and Treating Heartburn (Acid Reflux of GERD)
.
1. Conventional physicians recommend over-the-counter antacid medications for heartburn. Although these drugs can provide temporary relief, long-term use may be harmful, as they reduce the amount of stomach acids necessary for proper digestion and assimilation of food.
2. Screen for food allergies, which contribute to poor digestion, thus leading to heartburn. Avoid the following: foods you are allergic to, eating too many different types of foods at the same meal, drinking excess fluids during the meal, wolfing down food, or eating under stress.
3. Avoid overeating, do not eat acid forming foods, commercially-processed foods, overly spicy foods, refined sugars and carbohydrates, hydrogenated fats or oils, coffee, chocolate, sodas, excess alcohol, orange and grapefruit juice, tomato products, pasteurized milk or dairy products, and foods containing peppermint and spearmint.
4. Eat an organic whole foods diet, full of organic fresh green vegetables and green vegetable juices, especially freshly-made cucumber juice, which can provide instant relief. Free-range organic meats and poultry, and wild-caught fish are recommended. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.
