Acid reflux, heartburn..huge problem here.?

I have really bad acid reflux. My mother and I do actually. We both had the scope surgery done about a year ago. After the procedure, I had barely any problems with it. But awhile later, I started to get heartburn at least 4 or 5 times a month. I was taking Nexium. Eventually, it started to get expensive because my mother and father took it as well. Now, literally every thing I eat gives me either heartburn, acid reflux or a really bad stomachache…I know that I am also Lactose Intolerant and can’t have dairy, because it also gives me heartburn. I just had some chicken nuggets from Wendy’s and had TERRIBLE heartburn. Thank God tums actually do the trick. My question is, what should I do?
There is nothing more that the doctor can do for me!
